1. Introduction

Welcome to HABANO, a premium Havana cigar lifestyle discovery and concierge platform operated by Habano App LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use the app at habano.app. By using the App you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree please do not use the App.

2. Who We Are

HABANO is an independent discovery platform for Havana, Cuba. We connect travelers and cigar enthusiasts with cigar-friendly businesses, lounges, restaurants, hotels, vendors, and local services. We do not sell tobacco, transportation, or any products. We are a discovery and concierge platform only.

Users are solely responsible for their own compliance with all applicable US laws including OFAC regulations regarding travel to and transactions in Cuba. 3. Information We Collect

Information you provide: display name, email address, profile photo, WhatsApp number, Instagram handle (optional), privacy preferences and notification settings, journey data including places visited and vendors met, custom saved locations, spending records (optional estimates — private to you only), photos you upload, communications and feedback you send.

Information collected automatically: location data via GPS when you use map features or request a ride — only with your permission, device information, usage data, check-in data.

Information from third parties: name and email from Google or Apple when you sign in. Exchange rate data from elToque (eltoque.com) — no personal data is shared with these sources.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate and improve the App, provide personalized discovery features, display your journey history and saved places, connect you with businesses and vendors through WhatsApp, send follow-up emails after service interactions, send Havana Updates and travel notifications, analyze usage to improve the App, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising targeting.

5. How We Share Your Information

With businesses and vendors: limited info based on your privacy settings. Anonymous Mode means businesses see only Anonymous User — your identity is never revealed. Your spending records are never shared.

Third-party services: Mapbox for map rendering and location services, WhatsApp for ride requests and vendor communications, Resend for email delivery, Google and Apple for authentication.

Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law or court order.

We never sell your personal data to third parties.

6. Location Data

Location data is used to show nearby businesses, pre-fill your pickup location for ride requests, and record GPS when you save a custom location. We do not track your location continuously or in the background.

7. Data Retention

Data is retained while your account is active. If you delete your account your data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Some records may be retained longer if required by law.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. Contact legal@habanomag.com. Delete your account at any time from Settings in the App.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is rated 17+ and is not intended for anyone under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 17. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information contact legal@habanomag.com.

10. Security

We use HTTPS encrypted transmission, secure database storage, and role-based access controls. No method of transmission is 100% secure but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

11. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your language preference, store offline data, and remember your settings. We do not use advertising cookies or track you across other websites.

12. International Users

The App is operated from the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the App you consent to this transfer.

13. Changes to This Policy

We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy in the App and updating the effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
